Red Carpet Rolled Out For Cannes Film Festival

The Cannes Film Festival, one of the biggest events in the international film industry, opens today in the southern French city. Among the eagerly awaited premieres are "The Great Gatsby," by Australian director Baz Lurhmann; "The Great Beauty," by Italian director Paolo Sorrentino; "The Past," by Iran's Asghar Farhadi, who won acclaim for his earlier film "A Separation;" "Only God Forgives," by Nicolas Winding Refn; and "Behind the Candelabra," Steven Soderbergh's biopic about gay music icon Liberace.
